Seeking help with the following:

Database Management and Online Learning Academy
Attend RacePlanner systems training. Assist with online registration, events, recruitment campaigns and contacts. Update contacts and upkeep of the systems information.
Set-up online learning academy modules for coaches as needed
Social media, newsletters, press releases & local event calendars/web pages.
Build Community Networks
Attend networking opportunities at events and at local businesses. Recruit volunteers and assist on committees as needed.


The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with community members, GOTR-Northwoods board member’s and program participants.  As well as being a representative of the organization, assisting with program execution and administrative support.
Required Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Experience with marketing, building networks and basic computer skills and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete projects
  • Passion for GOTR’s mission and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image and whole-person health
  • Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and make efficient decisions
  • Flexible and adaptable
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working towards a degree in related field
  • Experience with Girls on the Run or other similar youth or wellness programs
  • Marketing & database management experience.
  • Connections to the local community

2019 5K Fun Run Director

– Reports to GOTR-Northwoods board and staff.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for organizing the GOTR-Northwoods Final 5Ks held in Wausau & Minocqua in May, coordinating and overseeing other members of the Race Committee.  The Girls on the Run Race Director (RD) must possess a passion for and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades. This passion will drive the RD to oversee the best version of a GOTR 5K possible while inspiring all participants to complete a 5K and celebrate this accomplishment!

Race Director(s)/Team leader:

  • The go-to” person for all event questions and needs
  • Liaison between GOTR-Northwoods staff, board and 5K Committee
  • Assign volunteers to 5K EVENT organizational chart – leaders. I.e. Logistics Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, Race Village Coordinator, Course Coordinator, Gear/Schwag Representative
  • Outline and implement a Marketing Plan – 5K marketing should start in January. i.e flyer ready & online registration up and running by January 15.
  • Work with GOTR schwag representative &  staff to order give-aways/shirts,  bibs & GOTR gear to sell at event
  • Manage 5K budget and accounting logistics
  • Update GOTR Board at meetings January-July with Follow-up report in July
  • Send Invitations/Thank You’s volunteers, sponsors and in-kind donors.
  • Recruit, organize, coordinate and communicate with event volunteers
  • Maintain online volunteer recruitment efforts
  • THANK volunteers
  • Plan and execute all marketing, promotional and community outreach strategies to drive attendance. Flyer and online registration in place by January 15
  • Create and send your event page link to beneficiary and community contact lists. Cross post on social media, and distribute flyers at parent meeting at each program site. Make and distribute yard signs.
  • Work with Race Director & Marketing Coordinator to manage pre-run registrations and day-of sale strategy
  • Keep track of number of registrations & coordinate pre-run and day-of distribution of race bags
  • Work with RD to set up lay-out of Race Village. Make maps & distribute to volunteers
  • Work with City’s to get safety signs, and officer present at event.
  • Designate road crossing gaurds with safety vests
  • Brief volunteers on their responsibilities the night before the run
  • Set up race course with signs, water stops, cheer stations, crossing gaurds & Finish Line
  • Oversee set up and break down at the event venue
